Meet Keycha

Keycha Gallon is a dedicated community leader, advocate, and Executive Director for Keyz 2 The Future, an organization empowering youth and families affected by trauma and gun violence.

Keycha Gallon is a gun violence survivor who lost her brother to a senseless shooting—an experience that devastated her family and fuels her mission to create safer communities. In the face of unimaginable loss, she transformed her pain into purpose and has become one of Richmond’s most committed advocates for change.

With a strong background in community service, Keycha launched Richmond’s first Gun Violence Awareness Summit, mentors youth, and has led initiatives raising awareness around cancer, domestic violence, and public safety. She has delivered critical community resources—including during the height of COVID-19—and served as Treasurer for Motivated 2 Help Others for five years. Keycha also sits on the Commission for CalVIP and the Richmond Participatory Budgeting Commission, where she champions violence prevention and ensures community voices shape funding priorities.

Keycha holds an Associate of Arts in Sociology, a Bachelor’s in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources, and an MBA in Project Management, balancing academic training with lived and professional experience. She is a Licensed Pharmacy Technician and has served as a shop steward with Local 29 for over 15 years, advocating for working families.

Her civic involvement spans Moms Demand Action, the Ronnie Bubba Robinson Scholarship Foundation, Cobiz Richmond, and Chamberlain—reflecting a deep, sustained commitment to equity, transparency, and community-driven solutions. Her leadership earned her the Congressional Woman of the Year Award in 2024.

As a survivor, mother, nonprofit founder, and advocate, Keycha is running for public office to bring results-driven, community-centered leadership to Richmond—focused on public safety, economic opportunity, equity, and empowering every resident to thrive.
